Your Dollars at Work

BTC’s highly trained graduates nurse our sick, fix our roads and bridges, build our ships, run our factories and repair our cars. They play a key role in fueling the economic engine of our region. Surveys of graduates show that 90% live within a 50 mile radius of our area. These individuals are not just filling key jobs but buying homes and cars, paying taxes and joining service clubs.

Perhaps the best way to understand the impact an education at BTC has on a students’ life can be understood in the words of the students themselves.  Read on to hear what they have to say!

Student Testimonials

“With personalized instruction from the faculty, and support from my classmates, I quickly learned the fundamentals of electronics and developed several career interests. I was hired directly out of school to work for a large hospital as a Biomedical Engineer, and have recently become CBET certified. After two years of school I gained the fundamental skills necessary to become successful in a high-tech, challenging, field. My success is due to the personalized education and attention I received at BTC.”

“I had just graduated from high school when I received a $1,000 scholarship from the Desmond McArdle Endowment.  I decided to pursue a career in Civil Engineering and Construction Management. That money made a big difference in my life because it allowed me to fulfill my goals and concentrate on my studies.  I owe a lot of thanks to the great start I got with the McArdle scholarship funds.”

“By learning skills and concepts with other Process Technology (PTech) students, I was able to learn the value of teamwork and collaborative thinking. BTC is not afraid to try out different teaching styles.  The college works closely with the PTech industry and even helped me obtain an operations internship over the summer.  My Ptech degree is extremely valuable to me and to hundreds of employers!”

“BTC has been a great learning experience.  My instructors are knowledgeable in the field and helped me get a job.  The financial aid department, the career center, and the people in registration have all worked very hard to help me get the resources I needed to succeed.  As a non-traditional student I haven’t had any negative experiences.”
